The Assistant Director of Housing Services is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the department consisting of 38 staff and a consolidated total budget of approximately $41M. This budget includes $7.7M departmental level funding and $33.15M Section 8 and Low-Rent Public Housing Program pass-through funds. 
 
As the Assistant Director of Housing Services, this position requires a good understanding of the current challenges facing affordable housing. The incumbent in this role will need to fully understand land use/zoning impacts, affordable housing development, have advanced knowledge of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) public housing, rental assistance programs, and Continuum of Care (CoC) programs. Additionally, you will need to have experience coordinating the work of skilled professionals and a strong knowledge of affordable housing financing tools. This role also requires you to have a proven track record of establishing and maintaining collaborative relationships not only with a broad range of internal and external customers but also among federal, state, regional, and local stakeholders.
