Identifying and securing the next permanent funding sources for affordable housing development

September 28 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm UTC+7

Session Description: Despite record Legislative and voter approved funding for affordable housing in Oregon in the past 5+ years, approaching headwinds challenge us not to be complacent. Over subscription of 4% LIHTC Private Activity Bonds, the tenuous nature of depending on Legislative general funds, and expiration of voter approved construction bond measures each provide unique challenges. Taken together, they are a reminder of the need to identify new permanent funding sources for future affordable housing development. This session invites statewide governmental and industry leaders to consider options for us to collectively rally around and organize to secure stable long-term funding for the next generation of affordable housing development.

Panelists:

  • Representative Maxine Dexter, Oregon Legislature, Chair, House Committee on Housing
  • Senator Kayse Jama, Oregon legislature, Chair, Senate Committee on Housing and Development
  • Lynn Peterson, Council President, Metro Council
  • Michael Schrader, Orrick Public Finance
