Many housing providers are uncertain as to how certain how COVID-19 may or may not intersect with the Fair Housing Act (FHA). Questions include: Is COVID considered a disability? Do I have the right to ask someone if they have COVID? Do I have the right to require someone to wear a mask? Do I have the right to ask someone to sign a waiver regarding COVID status? Do I need to and/or is it acceptable to notify tenants that someone has tested positive in the project or building? In this session we will explore how COVID-19 is connected to the FHA and answer these questions and more.
