DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS

The Management Analyst II is the full journey level class within the Management Analyst series. Employees in this class are distinguished from the Management Analyst I by the performance of more difficult and varied analytical work on assignments having greater impact on department operations or County programs and by exercising greater independent judgment and initiative. The Management Analyst II is further distinguished from the Financial Analysts classification series by providing a greater focus on programmatic and operational analysis. Employees at this level receive only occasional instruction or assistance as new or unusual situations arise and are fully aware of the operating procedures and policies within the work unit. Assigned projects may include statistical analysis, policy and procedure development, budget development, or other areas specific to the position assignment.
