Stephanie Berkland, Program Manager, TRC & Oregon Multifamily Energy Program for OHCS

Dan Elliott, Senior Policy Analyst, Oregon Housing and Community Services
Shannah Knaup, Supportive Housing Program Manager, Central City Concern

This session will discuss successes and lessons learned from housing providers and Oregon Housing and Community Services data on how they navigated resident support during the COVID-19 pandemic. The impacts of COVID-19 have proven to be challenging financially and mentally for residents, housing providers, and funders. The State will present data on energy assistance program demand, housing surveys, and how they quickly pivoted to support Oregonians through the pandemic. Additionally, we will hear from a housing provider who stretched their creativity to serve residents through these uncharted waters. They will discuss housing needs, health and safety, maintenance challenges, mental health support, and financials. Given the uncertainty of how long the pandemic will impact residents and our economy, this session aims to make us stronger together by learning from each other’s experiences.
