What You’ll Do:

We are looking for a hands-on Operations Manager to oversee the daily operations of the Shelter, manage the Shelter team and ensure the goals and objectives are being achieved. The right candidate is self-motivated, customer service focused, able to work with diverse populations and willing to roll up their sleeves and do whatever is needed to keep the operation running smoothly. You will be responsible for:

  • Acting as the onsite representative of the Shelter. Greeting customers and guests, answering questions and handling escalations. Planning and organizing daily activities of the Shelter.
  • Monitoring the facility to maintain a supportive, trauma informed environment. Ensuring the facility is clean, safe and compliant with all applicable regulations.
  • Hiring, training, assigning, motivating, mentoring, leading and guiding employees to ensure efficient, effective and productive Shelter operations in compliance with company policies.
  • Determining staffing needs. Scheduling the work of the Shelter team to support 24/7 coverage.
  • Serving as the point person for all Coastal Phoenix Rising policies and procedures. Developing, updating and maintaining required forms and policies.
  • Coordinating with other departments to ensure successful operations.
  • Managing vendor relationships necessary to operations, such as engaging with contractors for regular maintenance of units.
  • Assisting with budget preparation and meeting budgetary goals.
  • Conducting audits, managing inventory and ordering supplies and services.
  • Measuring productivity by analyzing performance data, financial data and reports.
  • Attending community meetings and other meetings as needed.

What You’ll Bring:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Management, Social Work, Psychology or related or equivalent experience.
  • 3 years of experience managing people, including hiring, training, motivating, managing performance, etc. and 2 years overseeing a facility or any combination of related experience.
  • Budget management experience.
  • Demonstrated excellent customer service with a philosophy of continual improvement.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills and ability to effectively manage conflict. Must be able to maintain a calm, empathetic and respectful demeanor and use de-escalation and crisis management techniques.
  • Success working productively with a diverse population with sensitivity to differences. Work with people with disabilities, low income or homelessness preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong aptitude with Microsoft Office suite and ability to learn new computer programs. Experience with timekeeping software preferred.
  • Outstanding analytical, critical thinking, strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Adaptability and flexibility.
  • Time management and prioritization skills required. Project management experience a plus.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
  • Ability to travel to other worksites or meeting locations.
