The 2020 Census is fast approaching and its critical Housing Oregon member organizations do what they can to help make sure everyone in your communities are counted. To learn more about how your organization can participate, a census meeting is being organized by Housing Alliance on Friday, December 13 from 9 AM to 10:30 AM. The meeting will be located at Neighborhood Partnership’s office at 2501 SW 1st Ave. Suite 120 or phone in 1-888-688-4715. No passcode required.

Every year, Oregon receives billions of dollars to support housing, rent assistance, energy assistance, health care services, and more – all based on the population of people counted in the last census. The meeting is to mobilize a temporary subcommittee to discuss strategies to ensure people who are experiencing homelessness, people living in affordable housing, and people with low incomes are counted.

Important Census dates to remember:

  • March – Online self-response begins
  • April 1 – Census Day
  • May – Non-response follow-up begins
