Enterprise Community Partners invites you to the Pacific Northwest Rural Rental Housing Preservation Academy, a series of no-cost training and peer learning sessions designed to help rural housing providers and nonprofits acquire and/or preserve USDA Rural Development, HUD 811 and 202, LIHTC and other subsidized and affordable housing in rural Washington and Oregon communities. 

Sessions run every other week from March up until September. Below is information about the first four workshops.

Rural Preservation in the Pacific Northwest
March 31, 10 A.M. PT
This session will provide an in-depth overview of the rural rental housing landscape in the region and lay the groundwork for all of the sessions. There will be presentations regarding preservation priorities and conversation about possible solutions/ strategies. 

515 Overview: USDA RD Housing and the 515 Transfer Process 
April 14, 10 A.M. PT

Join us to connect with RD Staff from the new regional underwriting team. The session will provide  an in-depth overview of USDA Rural Development’s 515, 514/516 and 521 programs. We will introduce major stakeholders and key roles in the affordable housing preservation process.

Strategies for Preservation 
April 28, 10 A.M. PT

Working toward true tangible outcomes, this session will focus on the intricacies of making a preservation project really work through the exploration of case studies from the region.

Federal and State Housing Finance – Beyond RD
May 12, 10 A.M. PT

This session will cover the array of financing resources available to preserve and rehab rural properties in the region. Local and federal programs and rural housing portfolios outside of RD and topics like  joint development partnerships will be covered.
