Resident Services Specialist | Clackamas County

The Housing Authority of Clackamas County (HACC) seeks conscientious, detail-oriented individuals with excellent interpersonal and outreach skills to join our team as Resident Services Specialists.

These positions will be a part of the Resident Services team. As a member of the team, you will be supporting participants who live in subsidized housing, either Housing Choice Voucher or Public Housing programs. By understanding the problems, needs and lifestyle issues concerning the socially and economically disadvantaged, the selected candidates will use community-organizing techniques and public relations skills to coordinate resources, communicate with diverse clients, and organize community activities. The Resident Services Specialist also establishes, and maintains cooperative relationships with partner agencies, internal staff, and residents.

The Family Self Sufficiency Program, consistent with federal Housing and Urban Development (HUD) regulations, which will enhance the quality of life for program participants and assist individuals within families to remove the barriers that keep the family dependent on public assistance. The Family Self Sufficiency Specialists’ enroll families, help them identify goals, and connects them to services and resources to achieve their goals. The selected candidates will track escrow balances and perform grant compliance, monitoring, and tracking. The ideal candidate will be able to successfully assess the needs of residents and coordinate with families to achieve their goals of a government-regulated program.

The Family Self Sufficiency (FSS) program was created in the 1980’s as a way for people who receive subsidized housing to eliminate or reduce dependence on government subsidies and save money by increasing earned income. The program combines stable and affordable housing along with staff support to help program participants achieve their goals.
