The Vancouver Housing Authority (VHA) works closely with local governments and other community partners throughout Clark County to address issues of affordable housing and homelessness and help families break the cycle of poverty.

Who we are looking for

The Vancouver Housing Authority is seeking to fill 3 Service Coordinator II positions to link residents to supportive services provided within VHA’s Supportive Housing sites by practicing assertive engagement to assess service needs and provide referral assistance.

What you’ll do

Coordinating supportive services for VHA residents leads to a positive impact on their lives and helps them maintain stable housing. Through case management where you perform intake and resource connection to residents in need, you’ll establish links with appropriate agencies and service providers in the community, such as personal assistance, transportation, counseling, preventive health screening/wellness, credit counseling, and legal advocacy resources. You will utilize a variety of engagement strategies including trauma-informed care and strengths-based casework. In this position you get to advocate for and educate residents on service availability, application procedures, resident rights, and use collaborative and creative case work to help residents meet their goals. This position also works with in collaboration with a team of service providers to problem solve and educate each other on issues related to areas of specialty to help them to better work with and assist the residents.

What we offer

  • Starting pay rate is $3,670 to $4,037 per month based on experience.
  • Full-time, non-exempt, union-represented position that works 40 hours per week Monday – Friday.

What you’ll bring

  • BA in Social Service or related field plus at least 2 years of direct service experience working with populations experiencing homelessness
  • Experience and/or training working with mental health diagnoses, drug and alcohol dependency issues, and/or co-occurring disorders
  • Experience and/or training in the legal liability issues relating to providing services coordination, drug and alcohol use, as well as mental health issues.
  • Valid driver’s license.
