There are two separate two-session interactive workshops each which will engage participants to identify solutions that increase and improve housing development opportunities and recommend solutions and strategies – one for rural-based organizations and one for Portland metro-based organizations.
In the first session participants will identify barriers, challenges and opportunities to development, develop criteria to select the most critical issues, review pre-conference survey results, and begin to prioritize potential issues. In the second session participants will select top tier issues for Housing Oregon to pursue solutions, complete in-depth analysis, and develop and recommend solutions and strategies to address the issues. The recommendations will be presented after the conference to Housing Oregon’s leadership to help inform strategic planning efforts.
- Rural Housing Development and Organizations: Wednesday, Sept. 28 – Session One 1:15 pm, Session Two 3:00 pm
- Portland Metro Housing Development and Organizations: Thursday, Sept. 29 – Session One 10:15 am, Session Two 1:15 pm

Housing Oregon Survey
We invite you to participate in a survey to identify opportunities and challenges facing affordable housing developers in Oregon—and to share your ideas for solutions. The survey will inform both a series of workshops at the Housing Oregon conference September 28-29 and our strategic planning effort beginning this year.
Four random participants will each receive $50 Fred Meyer gift certificates!
Deadline to participate is Friday, September 16.

How survey results will be used
Workshop participants will identify barriers, challenges and opportunities to affordable housing development. Criteria will be created to select the most critical issues, review pre-conference survey results, and begin to prioritize potential issues and shape recommendations. Housing Oregon will use survey and workshop results to complete in-depth analysis, shape solutions, and develop our short and long-term strategic plans.
