Description:
Join REACH CDC, Ankrom Moisan Associated Architects and Walsh Construction Co. for an exciting and informative conversation on Cost-Efficient Design and Construction practices for the recently completed Wy’East Plaza project in Portland, Oregon. Through deliberate strategies of efficiency and collaboration in the design, preconstruction, and construction processes — the project team was able to significantly lower development costs and deliver the four-story, 175-unit Wy’East Plaza project in Southeast Portland with a final construction budget that is approximately 39% under the state cost limit on a per-unit basis. The result of the collaborative efforts on the project is a per unit cost of just over $111,000, lower than almost any Portland-area affordable housing project built over the past three years or currently under construction. This allowed REACH CDC to provide additional affordable housing units for those households with extremely low incomes.
